Because the NADC is incredibly selective in its research and selection process, only an elite few are extended invitations for membership. According to the NADC, less than 1% of all practicing U.S. lawyers are members of the “Nation’s Top Attorneys.”
As the NADC selection process makes clear, members invited into the organization are vetted through a rigorous, multi-phase methodology that consist of:
- Nominations – Potential candidates must be nominated for inclusion by an in-house research team or by current NADC members, fellow attorneys, and current or former clients.
- Independent Research – Nominated attorneys are carefully vetted by NADC researchers, who evaluate a number of criteria regarding an attorney’s record of success, notable case results, client reviews, reputation, experience, training, stature in the legal community, noteworthy awards, and more.
- Panel Review – A blue ribbon panel reviews results of research provided by NADC staff. Because panels are comprised of top-rated attorneys and members, they have the requisite insight to determine when a lawyer’s body of work truly indicates they exceed and elevate the standards of the Bar. As the NADC notes, their final decisions reflect a list of lawyers who can be considered “truly elite.”
