Attorney About Tarik Habbas

A New Generation of Leadership

In May 2019, after approximately 3 years at Gwilliam Ivary Chiosso Cavalli & Brewer, APC, Tarik joined Habbas Law, bringing a strong legal foundation and a commitment to continuing the firm’s legacy of client-focused advocacy. Since joining, Tarik has worked tirelessly to shape Habbas Law into the firm it has become today.

His role within the firm reflects both experience and forward momentum, as he contributes to the next generation of leadership while maintaining the values that have defined Habbas Law for decades.

Education and Legal Foundation

Tarik earned his B.A. in Political Science from Santa Clara University before continuing his legal education at Santa Clara University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2016.

His academic background, rooted in the same community the firm serves, reflects a consistent connection to the Bay Area and a deep understanding of the people and clients he represents.

Early Career and Legal Experience

After law school, Tarik began his legal career as an associate attorney at Gwilliam Ivary Chiosso Cavalli & Brewer, APC, in Oakland, California.

There, he focused primarily on employment law while also gaining experience handling personal injury matters. It was there that Tarik found his calling in helping victims obtain the justice and compensation they rightfully deserve.

Family and Personal Life

Tarik married Anjuli Nanda in September 2021. Anjuli graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in the top 10% of her class in 2017 and is currently a Partner at Kapital Partners, where she spearheads the real estate development arm.

Anjuli is also on the Board of Directors at the Center for Employment Training. Tarik and Anjuli have two children, Rafferty and Sonny. They welcomed their first child, Rafferty Habbas, on April 7, 2024, marking an exciting new chapter for their growing family.

Expanding the Firm’s Capabilities

Tarik established the firm’s Employment Law division, while continuing to handle personal injury cases. His dual focus allows him to approach cases with a broader legal perspective, particularly when issues overlap between workplace conduct and injury claims.

Results-Driven Representation

Tarik has handled major injury cases and successfully represented hundreds of clients, achieving recoveries in the six and seven-figure range. In the past 6 months alone, Tarik has secured over $18 million in recoveries for injured clients and their families.

His work reflects a commitment to pursuing meaningful outcomes while maintaining clear communication and accessibility for every client. In recognition of his efforts, Tarik was selected to the California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Tarik became a Partner at Habbas & Associates in February 2024, marking an important milestone in his career and further solidifying his leadership role within the firm.

As a partner, he continues to build on the firm’s reputation for strong advocacy while helping guide its future growth and direction.

Community and Personal Interests

Outside of Habbas & Associates, Tarik devotes much of his time to giving back to the community he grew up in. He is on the Board of Directors at Sacred Heart Nativity Schools, on the Board of Directors at Center for Employment Training, and on the Board of Fellows at Santa Clara University.

Tarik is a big proponent of education and technical trade schooling. The education and schooling that Tarik has undergone have helped shape and transform his life and career. Tarik does what he can to help promote the importance of education in the community.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and traveling, balancing a demanding legal career with meaningful personal pursuits.
