Joseph Nykodym comes to Habbas and Associates with almost 30 years' experience as a personal injury and commercial trial attorney. His prior experience with Farmers Insurance and Liberty Mutual Insurance taught him how to fight efficiently and effectively for you against insurance companies and the defense attorneys they hire. Joseph managed a personal injury practice in Stockton, California representing injured persons, prior to joining Habbas and Associates.
Joseph speaks Spanish (his mother is Colombian) which bridges the gap often experienced between his clients and lawyers. Both of his parents worked blue collar jobs and he understands how an injury can effect a whole family.
Joseph grew up in San Mateo, California. He attended UC Berkeley and the University of San Francisco School of Law. Between college and law school, he lived in Washington, DC while working in the United States House of Representatives. He also earned his teaching credential from St. Mary's College of Moraga and taught world history, U.S. History, economics, and geography in local urban middle schools and high schools.
Joseph is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and the Robert G. McGrath American Inn of Court. When he is not working, he enjoys bicycling, gardening and cooking what his garden produces.
